The past four months, pretty much since the flood, I have been balls to the wall busy. Getting that issue out after three weeks of intense floor relief efforts just about killed me. I was able to get next issue out in 17 days to get back on schedule. Since then we haven't missed a deadline.
The latest issue, on the stands now, features Dea Riley, the Independent candidate for Lt. Governor, and is full of some fairly serious political stuff that's still fun to read. Riley was in town recently for the Fancy Farm picnic, and I was fortunate enough to spend the evening and part of the next day with her. She was our special guest at the first ever Bazooka Swap Meet, and she had the opportunity to connect with some very real people and get their opinions on the state of...the state.
I'm going to be doing a scathing review of the Fancy Farm antics, and we even shot video with the help of the Paducah Underground guys. We got the candidates for the Governor's and Lt. Governor's office, few interviews with the "man on the street," and even had a few words with Gatewood.
The guys are editing it right now, and hopefully we'll have that for you soon.
This month, we're looking forward to the big Bazooka's Bikini Beer Bash being held August 26th at the Jukebox, the old Jammin J's, complete with bikini bullriding and hot oil wrestling contests, hosted by Josh Boggs and the HornsNHunnies crew, who you may have seen on TruTV, Full Throttle Saloon, and at Sturgis. They will be giviing away two trips to Cancun and a trip to Vegas to the winners, and also filming the nights debauchery for the pilot of their new reality series. It's gonna be INSANE! (I'm using my pro-wrestling announcer voice.)
As always, to keep up with the daily events, fun random links, and the occasional "I've had three beers and am feelin' duuuurty..." posts (and sadly, pics...sorry Dad), add Bella Bazooka on Facebook. I'm on there, like, every day. Because it's crack.
You can always find the latest issue of Bazooka at the main liquor stores and bars, like both Roof Brothers, Global Wine and Spirits, Fat Moe's, Lone Oak and Leeder Bottoms Smoke Shop, Tailgators in Metropolis, and about 50 more spots.
